Health Occupations Career Fair

Mobile County Public School Health Science students volunteered at the annual Health Occupations Career Fair (HOCF) held at the Mobile Civic Center. They assisted students from area high school that were interested in health-care occupations were eligible to attend. Displays were set up by local colleges and health-care facilities where students were able to see and experience the skills and tasks completed in the health-care industry. This year's HOCF was a great success! Over 700 students visited the hands-on exhibits over the 2-day event.

Baker Multimedia Design Students Earn Adobe Photoshop Certifications

Baker High School students in Ms. Leiser's Multimedia Design class work hard throughout the school year. This semester, 15 students have earned the Adobe Certified Associate certification in Photoshop. This is an adult-level certification that proves these students are advanced users in the software. Congratulations!


Local FBLA State Officers as as Pages for the House of Representatives

Mobile County Public Schools is well represented at the state-level for Future Business Leaders of America. Davidson High School's Keenan Carter serves as the state FBLA President and as National FBLA Vice President for the Southern Region. Rain High School's Katore James serves as a state FBLA Vice President for Region III. Both young men also had the opportunity to serve as pages for the Alabama State House of Representatives.

Murphy JROTC Cadets Represent MCPSS

What a great week for the Mobile County JROTC program! Cadet William Skull of Baker High School was selected as a State Officer for JROTC at the annual JROTC State Conference held at Auburn University at Montgomery. He is the Senior Vice President and one of only five cadets from across Alabama to win one of these coveted positions. 

Murphy High School cadets also took first place overall in the State Drill Meet Competition held in Montgomery. This is a very highly competitive event and is on par with winning a state championship in high school athletics! Go Panthers!

Faulkner CTC Sweeps SkillsUSA!

On Friday, March 2, 2018, Faulkner Career Tech Center programs participated in the regional SkillsUSA competition held at Bishop State Community College. Faulkner students won a total of 27 medals--9 Gold, 14 Sliver, and 4 Bronze--ranging from specific program-area skills such as Cosmetology to Job Demonstration and Job Interview. Faulkner winners are now headed to the State SkillsUSA competition! Congratulations winners!
