The Bay Area Health Care Coalition’s Annual Health Occupations Career Fair was a huge success. More than 600 high school sophomores from Mobile and Baldwin counties attended the two-day event. The Health Occupations Career Fair is designed to motivate and inspire students considering careers in an array of healthcare fields and to also help the greater Mobile area continue cultivating the workforce needed to both replace retiring healthcare workers and serve the needs of an aging Baby Boomer population.
Representatives from various local health care facilities and post-secondary institutions was on hand to assist students in identifying various pathways to a career in health care. Students in the Health Care pathway from local high schools and Career Tech Centers worked with organizers to move students through the various career focus areas and to pass out important literature.
