In the Hospitality and Tourism cluster, students choose one of three pathways: Recreation, Travel and Tourism or Restaurant and Food and Beverage Services and Lodging. Each course contains specific content standards indicating what students should know and be able to do upon completion of each course. The foundation course, Hospitality and Tourism, is the prerequisite course for entering any pathway within the cluster. Learning activities simulate types of work environments students may encounter, which include opportunities to gain knowledge and skills through coordinated workplace learning experiences. The classroom and laboratory for this cluster provide a safe and appropriate setting for active, structured and stimulating student learning and assessment.
The Career Tech Student Organization for this cluster is Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) whose activities help students develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Click the following link for FCCLA. http://www.fcclainc.org/
This cluster is offered at the following schools: Bryant High School, Murphy High School, and Williamson High School. Students should talk to their high school counselor for specific information on enrolling in the Hospitality and Tourism cluster.
